Job Overview
The post holder will work in close collaboration with, and as a member of, the Supportive and Palliative Care multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to contribute to the delivery of safe and effective clinical practice, education and training, practice, service development and research/audit within the hospital specialist supportive and palliative care service. The postholder is accountable for independent clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment utilising advanced practice skills within an agreed scope of practice.

* Direct line management of the supportive and palliative care team.
* Managing the daily operational delivery of the service, responding to dynamic needs.
* Providing Advanced Level Practice to the SPCT and across the Trust, encompassing the 4 pillars of advanced practice and aligned to the palliative and end-of-life care advanced practice credential specification:
* Expert clinical practice, role modelling advanced practice within the team and the Trust including NMP and advanced assessment skills.
* Leadership behaviours and role modelling within the supportive and palliative care team, and across the Trust to support and promote safe and effective care and staff well being.
* Facilitating learning, including but not limited to coordination of the Trust wide palliative care education programme, and supports delivery, alongside the supportive and palliative care team.
* Supporting and fostering a research active environment, and supporting the delivery of national audits and evidence-based practice.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
The JD for this post will be finalised when the Trust wide ESAC review and generic JDs are completed. It will align with Advance Practice, as per the Centre for Advancing Practice’s endorsed palliative and end-of-life care advanced practice credential specification, which aligns with the capabilities defined by Health Education England’s (2017) Multi-professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice in England.

* MSc Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) or Centre of Advancing Practice Credential or Master’s Degree in a health related subject relevant to specialist area of clinical practice & professional registration, with standalone L7 advanced practice modules e.g. Independent prescribing.
