Site Agent The Role: The main purpose Site Agent will be responsible for the management of the construction site to achieve the required project delivery to the customers’ objectives while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control. Initially working on the Manor Road NOS7 and NOS8 remediation packages for Thames Water, which involve the repair and remediation of 2no. bridge structures and 5no. trunk sewer barrels across both rail and road spans. Currently these works are in design phase and offer an opportunity to be involved from conception in a complex, challenging and large-scale package. Assisting in the development of innovative solutions through all stages of the project lifecycle and leading the team of sub agents and engineers to proactively seek opportunities and minimise risk. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to grow and develop their team of sub agents and engineers in order to deliver the package on site, including the development, procurement and delivery of multiple complex temporary works schemes. In addition, you will eeffectively support and collaborate with the wider project team in the management of contracts with Thames Water, consultants and the supply chain including commercial, planning and project controls (reporting). You will be responsible for the delivery of the project, to the specified quality, the required programme and to the maximum commercial performance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Project Manager, engineers, planners and quantity surveyors to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner whilst customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded. Key Responsibilities: Site Management Overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the Manor Road project Deliver the work to the required quality without defects Lead a team of Sub Agents and Engineers to deliver the work safely without environmental incidents Ensure production and implementation of the required project plans, RAMS, ITP and check mechanisms Manage the preconstruction review process and ensure that all stakeholder consents and permits are in place prior to commencement Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is maximised and that variations are notified and suitably quantified Maintain the project construction programme, provide progress updates and produce short-term lookahead for day-to-day management of the site and resources Assist in the production of procurement specialist subcontractor/consultant scopes and schedules and liaise with the procurement department to ensure sites have adequate resources to complete the tasks Client Interface On a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate will be responsible for the developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with the Thames Water operations team Attend meetings with the Client where necessary and lead on package planning, consents and permitting Deliver the product to customer requirements and satisfaction To practically support the delivery of key corporate initiatives, such as events, and other corporate campaigns.This includes working with teams to generate content and support the management of logistics. Cost Control Populate and manage the Barhale cost plan for the project Maximise project value Ensure detailed site diaries/records are completed Actively seek opportunities for saving against the baseline and highlight variations with appropriate backup information where these have occurred Similarly, where there are cost pressures and risks of increased costs, ensure these are communicated within the Barhale project team and the risk reduction process is carried out Reporting Produce good quality, accurate monthly reports internally and for the Client Chair weekly site meetings in line with Company procedures Ensure meetings are minuted and actions are communicated and carried out Key measures & targets: Monthly and weekly reporting timescales are met Adherence to Business Unit Objectives Ensure 3 Pillar KPI and client measures are met Key relationships: Customers and stakeholders Subcontractors and suppliers Site teams and support departments Person Specification: The successful candidate will need considerable experience in the Civil and Water sectors as well as an appreciation of other aspects of engineering, and is likely to meet all of the following criteria; Essential Working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme and Risk Management and cost control including forecasting Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent CSCS Excellent communication, people, and team management skills Able to lead on seeking solutions to technically challenging problems Demonstrates a positive attitude and leads the team in ensuring the culture is in line with our Company Values Is motivational and able to mentor junior members of the team Leads the team in demanding high standards of compliance in HSQE Desirable IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS Temporary works Coordinator Confined space training Lift co-ordinator/supervisor Knowledge of Primavera P6 software Proven track record of leading similar value works and delivery teams
