We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to support our highly respected and knowledgeable Laboratory team. This is a full time, permanent position with a fixed working pattern of 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
This position requires someone to provide laboratory support to the technical teams to ensure smooth running through management of waste and disposals, management of deliveries and consumables stocks, including receiving, documenting and ordering.

We operate from purpose-built laboratory facilities which have a long history of providing expert advice and analytical solutions to the agochemical sector. Our laboratories enjoy an international reputation for solving complex and novel analytical problems in a wide variety of food, feed and forage crops.
What you’ll be doing
* Receiving and unpacking deliveries of consumables and chemicals throughout the day.
* Maintaining a working stock of consumables, reagents and chemicals including receipt, logging in and ordering to replenish stock levels.
* Preparing sampling kits, including addition of preservatives, and dispose of any unused kits safely following appropriate laboratory procedures.
* Keeping up to date records on the chemical inventory.
* Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment.
* Assisting with performing a range of laboratory checks.
Who we’re looking for
* An interest in science, preferably with qualifications related to the science field.
* Experience of working in a fast-paced environment would be desirable.
* Good time management and organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to cope under pressure.
* Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions, seeking advice where necessary.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision independently as well as part of a team.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Previous experience of working in a laboratory setting would be advantageous.

* Working in cold environments
