Main duties of the job
The Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor (ERI) will provide a high-quality professional exercise therapy service within a Regional Rehabilitation Unit (RRU) setting for entitled personnel in accordance with Defence Medical Services Guidelines and associated Defence Rehabilitation Policy as part of a team.
They will uphold professional standards through specialist musculoskeletal (MSK) clinical delivery and continuous improvement in accordance with professional, Defence and Civil Service core standards.
Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
* Deliver a range of exercise-based rehabilitation classes for complex patients with known diagnoses utilising Defence and National best practice guidelines safely and effectively.
* Conduct daily administration and registration, group and individual therapy sessions on and off-site in a range of settings including gyms, sports halls and swimming pools.
* Be dynamic in managing issues with patients, staffing, logistics and equipment.
* Work under the direction of the assigned course physiotherapist, using the expertise of the wider team as indicated.
* Use a range of communication techniques with the patient and referring team to understand barriers to progression and agree realistic goals.

All employees joining Ministry of Defence who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a 6-month probation period effective from the employment start date. Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed.

Person Specification
Registration and Memberships
* Please provide your membership registration number.
* You are required to be registered with the relevant professional body, as detailed in the advert, prior to submitting your application.
Qualifications
* BSc Graduate in Sports Rehabilitation and maintain Full Graduate Membership of the British Association of Sports Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT) OR
* BSc Graduate in Sports Therapy and maintain Full Graduate Membership of the Society of Sports Therapy (SST) OR
* Ex-military ERIs who have completed the JSERI Course.
* BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
