Senior Estates Building Surveyor From £54,800 15% bonus single person private medical ScottishPower HQ – hybrid, flexible working Help Us Make A Better Future ScottishPower General Services Estates are recruiting a Senior Estates Building Surveyor to join our dynamic team and contribute to the maintenance and development of our infrastructure. To provide Building Surveying advise across UK ScottishPower Group assets including owned, leased and third party rights over land in order to maximise value and mitigate risk What you’ll do Reporting to the Land & Estates Manager, you’ll work on multiple projects simultaneously with various stakeholders and provide professional advice, information and guidance on building surveying challenges. Duties will include: Conduct detailed building surveys and inspections of company assets, including, offices, depots and other facilities. Prepare comprehensive reports on the condition of buildings, identifying defects and recommending necessary repairs and maintenance. Manage and oversee building maintenance projects to time, budget and required standards. Collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure effective integration of building maintenance. Provide expert advice on building regulations, health and safety standards and sustainability practices. Preparation of schedules of work and evaluation of submissions Assist in the planning and execution of new construction projects ensuring their compliance with regulation and standards. Undertake surveys for schedule of conditions for new lease premises being entered into and continuously review dilapidations liabilities throughout lifespan of leased properties. Negotiate and mitigate any claims received following termination of lease or interim scheduled being serviced. Prepare schedules of work and evaluation of submissions. Mentor and support junior surveyors providing guidance and sharing expertise. What you’ll bring Experience of working within a Surveying practice preferrable, with ability to provide timely and professional advice, information and guidance on building surveying issues across complex property portfolio to maximise its value. Years of experience in building surveying with a focus on commercial or industrial properties and good working knowledge of building regulations, health & safety standards and sustainability practices. Be a member of the RICS/MCIOB qualification. A degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management or a related field including considerable project management experience. A customer centric approach to everything you do. You’ll be a good communicator, comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels and positively influence, negotiate and use probing questions to reach a positive outcome.
