Are you passionate about music? Are you committed to improving the life chances of young people?
Inspiration Trust is seeking to appoint a Visiting Music Teacher with a Singing specialism. Ability to accompany pupils at the piano would be an advantage, as would piano teaching skills and experience – but this is not a pre-requisite. If you are an excellent teacher, who is passionate about education and excited about continuing to develop your practice, then we want to hear from you.
The successful applicant will plan and deliver high-quality instrumental/vocal teaching within multiple Academies across the Trust and will facilitate co-curricular musical opportunities. While most teaching will take place during school hours, some work will be required out of school hours, most notably for rehearsals, performances and exams.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate music teacher, with a proven track record in achieving strong outcomes, to have a significant impact. This role presents an opportunity to work with nationally recognised practitioners and access high quality CPD.
The trust seeks applications from experienced, specialist teachers of Singing. The ability to play and teach another instrument to a high standard would be beneficial, particularly the piano, but is not a prerequisite.
This post is deployable trust-wide.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Grade 8 or above in a primary study instrument (or demonstrable skill level equivalent to at least this standard)
2. Grade 5 music theory or above (or a demonstrable skill level equivalent to this standard)
3. Valid driving license
4. Experience of teaching a range of ages, from primary to secondary pupils
5. Experience of leading and assisting with ensemble activities (choirs, ensembles, performance opportunities)
Inspiration Trust has twice been ranked as the country’s top family of comprehensive schools for pupil progress and strongly believes in the importance of giving the widest educational opportunities to all young people, regardless of their background. The Trust provides strong networks with opportunities to work with a diverse range of schools and partners.
When you join Inspiration Trust's thriving network of talented teachers, leaders and support staff, you join an organisation that supports you to be the best you can be. The Trust offers a varied professional development programme for employees.
The Trust also offers:
1. Generous holiday entitlement
2. Teachers' Pension Schemes with generous employer contributions
3. Health Plan and Employee Assistance Programme giving access to a range of services including claim back costs for Eye Care and prescriptions and access to 24/7 virtual GP Service and mental health support (Terms and conditions and restrictions apply).
4. Retail Benefits offering discounts with many shops and suppliers
5. Corporate membership of the Norwich Theatre Royal
6. Salary sacrifice schemes, including home technology, smartphones and healthcare plans, including Dental insurance and Gym membership discounts (Terms and conditions and restrictions apply).
7. Free Parking (on most sites)
*Some benefits are only available following successfully passing probation.
