Job summary The Digital and Data Portfolio Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the implementation of digital and data projects, ensuring they align with our overall strategy. Working closely with the Director of Digital, the post holder will manage a diverse portfolio of projects, effectively navigating complex stakeholder relationships. The successful candidate will manage the entire lifecycle of digital and data projects, including procurement and risk management, and ensure their timely and cost-effective delivery. They will be adept at proactively communicating project updates and managing expectations. In case of deviations from agreed plans, the post holder will be responsible for informing relevant committees and stakeholders, handling difficult conversations with professionalism and tact. Collaborating with colleagues across Digital and Operational Teams, the Digital and Data Portfolio Manager will identify, track, benchmark, and realise project benefits. They will engage with departmental staff to coordinate project-related activities. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in programme and project management methods and tools, providing expert advice to decision-makers. This role will involve presenting to directors and senior management teams, as well as representing the Trust at local and regional levels when required. Main duties of the job Effectively contributing to the Trust's vision, strategic objectives, and key work programmes by adopting an agile approach to programme and project delivery. Coordinating activity and drafting reports for the Director of Digital, providing support in managing the digital and data project portfolio. Fostering the development of key skills within the Programme Management Team through guidance and mentorship. Achieving significant progress in the delivery of successful digital and data projects, contributing to the overall strategic goals of the organisation. Developing comprehensive and first-rate business cases to advance digital and data-specific projects. Thoroughly identifying and documenting the Trust's requirements for each project, collaborating with all relevant stakeholders. Procuring and delivering each project in a timely and professional manner, adhering to Agile methodology principles. This will involve preparing and implementing project documentation to meet agreed milestone delivery dates, and coordinating any tendering processes while ensuring flexibility and adaptability throughout the project lifecycle. Effectively communicating and engaging with staff at all levels to ensure a clear understanding of the digital and data-driven strategy and the benefits it can deliver to the organisation.
