Science Technician Job Start Date: January 2025 Contact: Permanent, term time only plus 5 training days Salary: Scale 4 Points 7 - 11, £22,472 - £23,953 Hours: 37 hours per week We are seeking a full-time (37 hours per week) science technician to work 39 weeks per year, supporting our science faculty in its delivery of practical science lessons. The role involves the preparation of materials and equipment for practical class-based activities and demonstrations, across the full range of sciences. In addition to compulsory lower school science, the school offers A levels in biology, chemistry and physics. Some ‘in class support’ during lessons will also be needed. Ideally, we are seeking an experienced technician who understands and can quickly adapt to our state of the art science facility. However, there is latitude to offer training to suitably qualified applicant, who will at the very least have practical laboratory experience through the study of one or more sciences at least to A level. The successful applicant will have experience with ICT (Word/Excel), excellent organisational and communication skills and work well as part of a team, being comfortable working with and around secondary school students.
