Scope of the Role: The Inbound Operations Supervisor manages the scheduling and administration of inbound deliveries for UK warehouses and imports. They ensure OTIF deliveries, update the records, oversee EDI transmissions to align with expected arrivals, and ensure manual pre-advice complies with company policies and standards. They are responsible for leading a diverse team of six Goods In personnel. Key
Responsibilities:
Inbound Management
• Plan and coordinate inbound deliveries from UK warehouses and customer-arranged imports (EU & non-EU).
• Prioritise private and high-value deliveries, ensuring risk is managed in line with business standards.
• Communicate daily delivery schedules to relevant teams and escalate late arrivals or no-shows.
• Resolve inbound issues, including CDS documents and missing ARCs.
• Ensure inbound volumes align with business throughput capacity across all teams.
• Provide trade booking summaries and maintain compliance with delivery terms and conditions.
• Track and report problematic deliveries, including weekly issue logs.
• Manage delivery paperwork, confirming receipt with hauliers and customers.
• Report damages within 24 hours of receipt.
• Oversee invoice coordination for private customers with Customer Services.
• Support the Goods In team, ensuring accurate system updates for receipts.
Customs Management
• Ensure all inbound deliveries have the necessary CDS documents and ARCs.
• Manage daily haulier relationships to ensure compliance.
• Oversee ARC signoffs during receipt and escalate queries as needed.
• Escalate customs-related issues to the Operational Risk Manager.
Experience:
• Strong supply chain and logistics experience, particularly with EU and non-EU imports.
• Effective communicator, able to remain professional in fast-paced environments.
• Proficient in Excel, with the ability to manage and manipulate data.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• European language skills (especially French) are beneficial.
