Role Type: FTC or day rate (inside IR35) until end of 2025
The Role
Hiscox is a dynamic and innovative organisation. We are embarking on an exciting journey to implement a new People Strategy Target Operating Model for our People Function. The People function is going through a significant transformation change which will see a transition to strategic business partnering, supported by Communities of Expertise and People Operations.
This change will result in a complete transformation of how Hiscox employees and managers interact with the People function, with a shift to self-service of People tools and processes, and therefore a huge focus will be required to upskill managers to use technology and self-serve.
The purpose of this role is to ensure that the business understands and adopts new People processes and technology and is ready for a brand-new way of working to support their employees through their careers at Hiscox. Additionally, this role will also be responsible for driving the communications and engagement plan related to the wider People Function Strategy of which the Transformation is a pillar of.
To achieve this transformation, we are seeking a talented Business Change Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in the transformation.
Reporting to the People Transformation Programme Manager, the Business Change Manager will work as part of the People Transformation team and will be responsible for designing and driving the change agenda, ensuring that new ways of working are well understood and adopted by all stakeholders. This includes but is not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
Change Strategy & Implementation
1. Develop and execute a structured change management plan aligned with the overall People Transformation objectives.
2. Identify business readiness gaps and create targeted interventions to drive adoption.
3. Lead change impact assessments across people, processes, and systems, using insights to inform change strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Business Readiness
1. Partner with key stakeholders across the business and within the People function to ensure alignment and engagement.
2. Work closely with the communications lead to develop a coherent programme communications plan which links to overall People Plan, developing and executing materials and measuring engagement relating to the transformation and wider people strategy.
3. Collaborate with the communications lead to manage the people/business change champion community to co-create the communications plan where appropriate, collating feedback and insight to adapt the plan.
4. Develop a mechanism to track business readiness and measure the effectiveness of change efforts.
Training & Capability Building
1. Work with the Workstream teams to define and deliver targeted training and enablement programs.
2. Support the upskilling of managers and employees in the use of new tools, processes, and self-service systems.
Change Adoption & Continuous Improvement
1. Monitor adoption levels and address resistance through proactive interventions.
2. Establish feedback loops to refine and optimize change approaches.
3. Drive a culture of continuous improvement to ensure lasting transformation.
Project Governance & Reporting
1. Provide structured reporting on change progress, key risks, and success metrics.
2. Support programme governance by providing insights into stakeholder sentiment, business impact, and engagement levels.
Qualifications/ Experience
1. Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in business change management, organizational transformation, or business readiness.
2. Experience leading change for large-scale HR or similar transformation programs within a global/multinational organization.
3. Strong understanding of change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR, Kotter).
4. Experience with HR transformation, operational model shifts, or digital enablement.
5. Consultancy experience is desirable.

1. Reports to the People Transformation Programme Manager.
