Main duties of the job As Specialist Substance Use Nurse, youll have the chance to make a real difference to the lives of the people we support who are experiencing difficulties from drug and alcohol use, working with them to develop the personal, flexible and realistic support packages they need to support their recovery. We recognise the diversity of our service users and will accept applicants from Registered Mental Health Nurses and Registered General Nurses who have a passion for working in this field and recognise the positive impact nursing can provide, supporting a group of individuals often stigmatised and marginalised. You will undertake a diverse role from running well-being clinics in the community including clinical assessments, supporting the management of service users with comorbidity and complexities, Blood Borne Virus (BBV) screening and vaccination, alcohol & opiate community detoxifications, administering IM Thiamine & injectable Buprenorphine and other harm reduction and wellbeing interventions to a range of service users.
