About the Role
Our product offering features autonomous robots that we design and build in-house. We're creating new spaces for assembly, testing and demos.
We need a CNC Machinist to set up, programme and operate our machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. This role requires strong machining knowledge, the ability to interpret technical drawings and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
Responsibilities:
* Support the CNC Production Technical lead and deputise in their absence
* Safely and efficiently operate CNC machines to produce components as per engineering drawings: Doosan Vertical mill, Nikken 4th Axis mill with Fanuc control, Doosan Lynx 2100 LSYA lathe with Fanuc control, Tormach 770 Vertical, Tormach 15L Lathe
* Work with engineering on new designs and provide input for design for manufacture
* Be a primary resource for programming and scheduling of work and allocation
* Choose appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures for each job
* Provide inspection resource for both first article and interim checks
* Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and report any issues to the maintenance department
* Troubleshoot and resolve problems during the machining process
* Follow general organisational procedures and ensure a safe working environment
* Keep records of machine setup, tooling and production data
* Collaborate with engineers, supervisors and other team members to achieve production goals and resolve technical issues
* Guide less experienced team members and educate when necessary
Requirements:
* Experience with CNC milling and turning and CNC programming
* Knowledge of G-code and CAM software (Fusion 360)
* Knowledge of Solidworks (advantageous but not essential)
* Experience with quality control
* Good problem-solving skills
* Good understanding of engineering drawings
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
