Position Overview
The Council's Housing, Customer and Building Services is recruiting a Business Analyst to provide business analysis, financial planning and forecasting, budget monitoring, and financial reporting support to the Head of Service and senior managers across the Service.
Key Responsibilities
1. The postholder will report directly to the Head of Service and will require a high level of business analysis and financial monitoring expertise.
2. Communicate effectively with senior managers across the service, other Chief Officers, and the Finance Management Unit.
3. Consider corporate and service issues, as well as wider environmental and political factors.
4. Set and meet high-quality performance standards and strive to surpass these standards.
5. Contribute proactively and use initiative to progress analysis of business and financial data to identify service improvement activities.
6. May be involved in cross-cutting exercises outside of immediate responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements
The postholder should be educated to degree level in a relevant business or financial discipline, possess good planning and organisational skills, and have the ability to prioritise workload.
Additionally, the postholder should have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as good IT skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets and computerised accounting packages.
