We are looking for an experienced nurse to lead the highly specialised team of Colorectal Advance Nurse Practitioners supporting our colorectal patients within Gastrointestinal Medicine and Surgery (GMS). The post holder will be a member of a larger well-established MDT within Guy's & St Thomas Hospital, London.
Applicants must be experienced registered nurses and have practiced at a minimum band 7 post or above. We are looking for someone who has extensive experience in looking after people with Lower Gastrointestinal problems. They must be able to demonstrate team leadership, resilience, and determination. They should seek to lead new practice and service redesign solutions in response to feedback, evaluation, and need, working across boundaries and broadening their sphere of influence.
The post holder will be required to engage key stakeholders and influence the development and improvement of practice, patient care, and service delivery.

Main duties of the job
The Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) is an experienced registered nurse with specialist skills to assess and treat patients and manage the clinical environment, in liaison with the management and consultant team. The nurse will act as an autonomous practitioner in forming clinical decisions and complex management plans in the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of patients. In conjunction with senior nursing and consultant staff, they will formulate the development of clinical guidance for all aspects of clinical practice within the clinical specialty. The post holder will develop new areas of practice, with nursing and consultant staff ensuring quality standards are met. The post holder will work closely with the interdisciplinary team and collaborate with colleagues to ensure that high-quality patient care is maintained.
The Lead ANP will manage a team of 4 Senior Colorectal Nurse Specialists that demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, education, and support to the team of junior nurses and healthcare professionals, and patients. The Lead ANP will actively undertake clinical audits within the specialist area.
