Role Synopsis The Engineering, Fabrication & Construction (EF&C) Category Senior Advisor role sits in the Front End Project Delivery Team within the Projects procurement organisation, and reports into the (EF&C) Category Senior Manager. They undertake category management and global supplier relationship management, driving end-to-end spend management to mitigate supply chain risk and enhance value delivery, including sustainability, within EF&C category. They do this through collaborating within and beyond procurement, including with regional, business, and FB&T resources. They know their categories intimately and support development of in-depth changes which deliver business objectives, strong category guidance and ensures efficient end to end category execution. They work with regional and FB&T teams for optimal, compliant, and driven procurement outcomes. Problem solvers with good commercial insight, they create solutions to category challenges, they cultivate senior partner relationships and work with businesses to understand their evolving needs alongside developing deep insights into supply markets, including disruptors and technological advances. They bring value through orchestrating development of transformational strategies in support of bp’s strategy, collaborating cross-functionally to realize identified value and working with delivery teams to ensure that their global strategies are implemented locally. The EF&C category senior advisor plays a vital role to support bp’s strategy reset and contributes directly to bp Projects organisation. The role is responsible for the central management of Global Agreements and related category strategies, supports individual major projects developing fit-for-purpose market engagement and contract execution strategies. The team is at the forefront of supply chain engagement, developing dynamic solutions to address business challenges and supporting bp Projects capital productivity framework to ensure our major projects are delivered safely, predictably and competitively. Category excellence: Data led management of end-to-end category performance by working with the organization to understand demand and ensure strategies that can be performed effectively across teams. Consider regional factors like laws, taxes, and market conditions in category management planning. An understanding of how to ensure strategies flow through to execution in the businesses / assets Strong understanding of global supply markets, industry dynamics, cost trends Ability to structure sophisticated contracting strategies and contracts with different commercial models Proven understanding and experience in strategic sourcing and contracting (preferably EPC in major projects), contractual performance management and supplier management. Business expertise: Stakeholder management and influencing skills in order to develop a deep understanding of the supported businesses / regions / assets and their priorities, including long term objectives. An ability to quickly develop an understanding of the supported businesses / regions / assets and its objectives Knowledge of procurement within a sophisticated multinational business Knowledge in relevant procurement categories with an understanding of the market's dynamics and its influence on procurement strategies Leadership: An SME in the relevant category, who shares knowledge with the wider team and drives the strategy.
