What you'll do
1. Lead on the provision of training, support, and guidance on quality processes and nuclear safety culture fundamentals to project teams and suppliers.
2. Manage outstanding legacy quality paperwork for designated projects.
3. Lead weekly meetings with the client to provide quality progress updates and maintain meeting minutes.
4. Oversee the review and update of quality documents and processes to align with requirements.
5. Manage the conduct of weekly inspections, including onsite inspections and quality documentation inspections.
6. Monitor and follow up on the progression of non-conformance reports, field change requests, and requests for information.
7. Review compiled quality reports before submission with the team.
8. Manage the quality tracker.
9. Raise surveillance observation notifications when required.
10. Promote a Right First Time and Nuclear Safety culture to project teams and suppliers, understanding key risk areas and opportunities for improvement.
11. Promote value-added industry best practices and innovative solutions under continual improvement.
12. Perform statistical analysis on identified deviations and provide feedback for improvement.
13. Provide senior guidance and support on quality deliverables such as inspection and test plans, quality control plans, and procedures.
14. Manage the compilation and submission of Lifetime Quality Record Packs.
15. Manage the identification of, and raising of non-conformances.
16. Manage the production of quality installation record maps.
17. Full review of test results and certificates for compliance.
18. Act as a point of contact for all quality-related matters with senior stakeholders.
19. Oversee the uploads of as-built drawings from the team and ensure proper documentation.
20. Line management, coaching, and mentoring responsibilities of Quality Engineers/Controllers.
What you'll need
1. Computer literacy, including Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
2. A degree in an engineering or science discipline.
3. Minimum five years' experience in a construction/heavy industry environment Quality Engineer role.
4. Experience of using Fieldview.
5. Strong knowledge of civil construction.
6. Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
7. Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
8. Demonstrable understanding of British Standards.
9. Knowledge and experience of ISO 9001:2015.
10. Understanding of QRA 1, QRA 2, and QRA 3 works.
11. Ability to cultivate good working relationships with site engineers, operational delivery leads, and project managers.
12. Internal auditing experience.
13. Desirable - Team Management & Leadership experience.
