About the role
Hartrigg Oaks is a high-quality registered care home that offers older people a relaxed, safe and welcoming place to live.
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and flexible individual to work in our residential care services in our Hartrigg Oaks community in York, where you will be responsible for the overall buildings and grounds maintenance ensuring that our residents live in a happy and comfortable environment.
You will be required to undertake routine weekly, monthly and annual health and safety checks around the buildings, and to periodically inspect and maintain the building fabrication and the pool & plant maintenance room. This includes legionella testing, fire alarm testing, checking special equipment to ensure they are safe (including wheelchairs, walking frames, hoists and slings), and checking water temperatures and nurse call systems. You will be provided with the relevant training in these areas where required.
A typical week may involve general repairs and compliance tasks and keeping equipment safe.
About you
You will have maintenance experience covering minor repairs and basic decorating skills. Previous knowledge of COSHH and HASAWA Regulations is essential for this role, as well as being able to show understanding of the importance of compliance monitoring. It’s important that you are computer literate, as you will be required to maintain electronic databases and systems. You will be expected to be flexible to undertake other activities across our York sites, where required.
If you have a ‘can do attitude’ and want to make a real difference in a local community then this may be the role for you!
