Job Overview North Wales Harm Reduction Outreach Service Activities Worker An exciting opportunity has arisen within the North Wales Harm Reduction Outreach Service for an Activities Worker. The post holder will work across North Wales to organise and facilitate a range of activity projects, including Peer2Peer initiatives, for people that use substances; forming part of a harm reduction approach to developing opportunities for meaningful use of time. Through the facilitation of projects, the post holder will contribute towards promoting self-esteem, confidence and skills for life. Person specification Essential Criteria Qualifications and / or knowledge Significant experience in a health care or education setting NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience in relevant field of practice Experience Essential criteria Experience of working with individuals with substance use/ mental health/criminal justice needs in a health or education setting. Apptitude And Abilities Essential criteria Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of Safeguarding procedures Co-ordination and organisational skills. Basic risk assessment and risk management skills. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively. Computer literacy. An understanding of issues affecting people with substance use, mental illness, homelessness and criminal justice needs. A Basic awareness of issues affecting health and social care. An understanding and awareness of person centred care Ability to manage own workload and determine priorities. Ability to problem solve and adapt to novel situations under pressure. An understanding of equality and social inclusion principles Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance.
