Social Support Workers – (School friendly hours)
• Support clients access the community i.e with shopping and social activities.
• Light house duties.
• Sitting with clients for carer respite for families.
School hours available if required.
• Preferably should have a background experience in social care however we provide extensive training.
• Holds an SVQ2, HNC in Health and social care, or is working towards the qualification, qualification or equivalent.
• Good verbal and written communication in English.
• A driving licence and car are essential.
• Proof of right to work in the UK.
• Successful applicants will be required to complete a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) application and also register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of starting.
Tasks
Social Support workers should be able:
1. To look after the emotional, cultural and social needs of the Clients using a person-centred approach.
2. To observe and promote the Client’s human rights and the principles outlined in the health and social care standards.
3. To evidence that care is based on dignity and respect choice, compassion wellbeing and responsive to their changing needs.
4. To create and maintain good professional relationships with Clients, their family and friends and the wider agencies.
5. To adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations and Potters Health Care’s policies, procedures and guidelines.
