Polytec are looking for an Accounts Assistant for our Huntingdon based client, the role will have a focus on the purchase ledger, bank, sales and fixed asset register.
Responsibilities:
* Process purchase invoices and employee expense forms in a timely manner
* Prepare and process twice-monthly payment run reports
* Reconcile supplier statements to aged creditor reports within the accounting system resolving any issues
* Maintain the purchase ledger database for current suppliers' contact details, adding new suppliers as required
* Complete VAT returns
* Month End activities
Requirements:
* At least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, preferably A level qualification
* Strong experience working within a Finance department, preferably involving purchase ledger
* Experience of working a hi-tech or RandD organisation would be beneficial
* Competency in double entry bookkeeping and accounting principles
* Excellent IT skills with advanced proficiency in MS Excel
* A good knowledge of accounting software (SUN Systems advantageous)
