Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced housing leader to provide strong strategic leadership to a team of housing professionals. This role involves delivering a proactive and responsive housing management service to 17,000 tenant, leasehold, and sheltered residents.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure operational excellence, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability, and driving continuous service improvement.
2. Lead, motivate, and inspire teams to deliver a first-class housing service, supporting high levels of employee satisfaction, engagement, wellbeing, and performance.
3. Embed a culture of performance management, including regular 121s, appraisals, and training needs assessments.
4. Provide strategic leadership that aligns with the Council’s values, ensuring consistent service delivery and increased customer satisfaction.
5. Prepare and manage the budget for Neighbourhood and Community Services, ensuring value for money for residents and the council.
6. Lead the strategic development of the sheltered housing service and implement business and service improvement plans.
7. Set and manage KPIs related to tenant, sheltered, and leasehold management, ASB, lettings, estate management, health and safety, and statutory obligations.
8. Implement assurance checks to maintain high-quality service and manage complaint responses.
9. Promote the Resident Engagement Strategy, fostering meaningful resident engagement through estate action plans and improvement working groups.
10. Collaborate with departments across the council to provide a customer-focused service.
