YOUR DREAM OPPORTUNITY
As our Senior Garment Technician, you will spearhead the quality and fit process across Apparel and ensure it is kept in line with the brands standards through all stages of development and bulk production. Leveraging your expertise, you will ensure that our designs retain their integrity while seamlessly transitioning into bulk production.
Get excited to:
1. Drive effective and efficient process for accurate on-time sample development
2. Work in partnership with buying to ensure that samples are right-first-time and aligned with brand commercial requirements
3. Deliver innovation on garment manufacturing methods and construction techniques by liaising with suppliers and factories
4. Conduct a risk assessment on products within own product team and highlight/resolve potential risks
5. Work in partnership with suppliers to develop a thorough understanding of the key garment supply base capability—share knowledge
6. Provide clear and direct technical instructions to offshore offices within the required timeline
7. Communicate effectively to internal stakeholders; show commercial acumen when advising; offer the problem and the solution
8. Carry out full preparation for fit sessions: assess the sample to review garment construction e.g. tension, fabric type and garment
9. Fit garments with Designer/Buyer to ensure samples are to agreed specifications as per ‘Design Brief’ and agreed delivery dates can be maintained
10. Assess workload projection for the following weeks using production schedule and critical path
11. Advise and troubleshoot testing issues for product area in an effort to minimise risk and streamline decision making
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU OFFER US
1. Previous experience (5+ years’) as a Quality Assurance Officer or Garment Technician in the fashion or related industry
2. Work experience in managing & leading a team of QA Officers is favourable
3. Experience of working in a major clothing retailer or manufacturer
4. Demonstrable experience of the clothing sector and understanding of the sector culture and dynamics
5. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word)
6. Computer literacy in QA related software
7. An advanced understanding and practical application of garment construction, pattern making and grading
8. An advanced understanding and practical application of critical path elements
9. Full understanding of quality standards and legal labelling requirements for FN
10. Full industry understanding of product being fit for purpose
