WordPress Developer (Full-Time, Remote/Hybrid Available) We are looking for an experienced Senior WordPress Developer, ideally with agency experience, to join our fast-paced development team. If you have strong experience building custom WordPress themes and plugins, are comfortable working with SASS, JavaScript, Gutenberg blocks (ACF) and git, and have previous agency experience, we’d love to hear from you. Who we are: We are a well established, full service digital agency working with global clients across multiple industries. The agency operates as part of Elixirr - a consultancy that helps provide a stream of engaging challenges that often require a creative approach to solve. We're a friendly, approachable and hard working team that rely on each other as we deliver world class projects. It's often busy but we have each other’s back and support one another at all times. Who you are: Having worked on custom WordPress themes for the past few years, you've built a number of impressive sites and can demonstrate well structured code in a github repo. You know what it's like to work against a tight deadline and always come through. You've helped junior devs figure out a few tricky problems and maybe been asked to provide code reviews. WordPress is your bread and butter but you're always up for learning something new or helping to figure things out with other team members. What You’ll Be Doing: Developing and supporting custom WordPress themes and plugins with clean, maintainable code. Transforming figma designs into ACF based gutenberg blocks. Collaborating with designers, developers, and online marketing teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Getting under the skin of existing sites to be able to provide support, maintenance and feature development as needed. What We’re Looking For: 5 years of WordPress development experience, preferably in an agency setting. Everything we build is from scratch so expertise in PHP, JavaScript, and SASS, with experience in Gutenberg block development using ACF is essential. Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, custom post types and taxonomies. Ability to self-manage tasks to meet deadlines and communicate progress clearly with the team. Experience working with shopify is a plus. Experience with accessibility standards is beneficial. Previous experience with using jira for ticket management is beneficial but not required. Someone who is able to offer an opinion on how things can and should be done and is able to help shape how we evolve as a team. Why Join Us? Work with a talented, supportive team on exciting client projects. Enjoy flexible work arrangements (remote/hybrid options). Opportunity to lead projects and shape development best practices. Competitive salary with performance related annual bonus and stock options scheme. Support for professional growth and skill development.
