We are currently seeking passionate and reliable Support Workers to join our team, offering exceptional care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, complex behaviours that challenge, and those with high support needs and personal care requirements. Role Overview: As a Support Worker at Abbeycare and Nursing LTD, you will be responsible for helping individuals live healthy, happy, and fulfilling lives. You will support individuals to maintain their independence, access the community, and take part in day-to-day activities. You will provide practical support with personal care, medication administration, and creating a safe, clean, and accessible home environment. Your role will also involve promoting positive relationships and supporting individuals to make choices about their lives. Key responsibilities include: Providing personalised care and support to individuals with a range of health needs. Assisting with personal care, including washing, dressing, and hygiene. Supporting with medication administration in line with care plans. Helping individuals access the community and participate in activities and hobbies. Supporting with daily household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a tidy and safe environment. Promoting and encouraging independence and individuality. Building and maintaining positive and respectful relationships with service users. Assisting individuals with complex behaviours and managing challenging situations effectively and professionally. Maintaining accurate records and reports as required by the service. Ensuring that the health, safety, and wellbeing of individuals are always a top priority. Working closely with the Service Manager and other team members to deliver high-quality care. Desired Skills and Qualities: To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and attributes: Empathy, patience, and a passion for helping others. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Experience in providing support to individuals with a variety of health needs (desirable but not essential). A non-judgmental attitude and respect for individual rights and dignity. Ability to manage complex and challenging behaviours in a calm and effective manner. Good organisational and time-management skills. Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately. An understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults. A commitment to professional development and continuous learning. A valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle is desirable.
