Indaver is now constructing a large energy-from-waste plant as part of an Integrated Waste Management facility in Essex. Over a year's worth of groundworks have already been carried out, and construction work has now commenced with piling activities on site. This will be one of the largest energy-from-waste plants in the UK, and you will be working with an experienced international team of engineers to take the project from groundworks to commissioning (3.5 years) and beyond.
The Contract Manager will be employed on a temporary basis (outside IR35); however, there may be a possibility to transfer to employee status. The contract will run through to [insert end date].
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Preparing and supporting the ongoing contract discussions with different EPC partners.
2. During contract execution: follow up and reporting regarding all contract-related issues.
3. Act as Indaver's representative in discussions and communications with the different contract partners.
4. Responsible for the (contract-related) Minutes of Meeting.
5. Identifying and preventing upcoming contract issues and advising the members of the project team in this matter.
6. In case, preparing, proposing, and conducting claims and registered letters.
7. Dealing with the group contract and procurement departments.
8. Being part of the Indaver project team, reporting to the overall project director.
9. Responsible for all administrative matters.
10. Being very constructive and looking for hands-on solutions.
11. Excellent communication skills and being a team player.
12. Having attention to detail, being very meticulous, and accurate.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Proven experience with EPC contracts in the UK, preferably for EfW plants.
2. In-depth knowledge of NEC3, Fidic (yellow book), and ICHEME contracts in the UK.
3. Practical and theoretical knowledge of warranties, liabilities, and other contractual clauses.
4. Combining contractual, financial, and technical knowledge.
5. Master's degree in engineering, finance, science, or law.
6. Being based around the Essex area would be advantageous.
