Automation Engineer – West Yorkshire – Special Purpose Machinery – Hybrid - Permanent – 37.5 hours per week - £53-57k flat rate overtime 25 days holiday Growing organisation with a full order book, wide range of products and systems to work on, no two projects are the same Samuel Frank is recruiting for an Automation Engineer, with working knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal (modifications to existing systems) to work for a well-known and reputable OEM based in West Yorkshire. This opportunity will suit an Automation Engineer with at least 3 years recent/relevant experience in this field. Key aspects of the Automation Engineer role include – Successful Automation Engineer will assess what’s already in place in terms of coding and designs and then modify accordingly Good knowledge of electrical schematics, panel layout drawings & cable schedules (AutoCAD or EPLAN) – ideally be able to modify existing drawings Automation Engineer role will be 80% office/home based – 2-3 days per week in the office when not on site, with monthly trips to site to provide commissioning support of roughly 4-5 days involved (UK & International) Experience of PLC and HMI software for automation equipment within OEM businesses. Experienced of systems according to EN60204, in particular variable speed drives and PLCs Working knowledge of PLC and HMI software (TIA Portal V19 and ideally Rockwell V30 including Safety PLC). Configuration of Variable Speed Drives – ideally Siemens G120 and Rockwell PowerFlex series. Any experience of functional machine safety would be useful Qualified to minimum HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). Automation Engineer role would suit a self-starter with full project life cycle experience. You’ll need a UK driving licence and be able to travel in and out of the UK without restriction.
