Our prestigious client is seeking a Publications Manager on a 12 month fixed-term maternity contract (from mid-October to late November ) to deliver and develop an ambitious publishing programme encompassing a variety of publications across both online and print.

About you
The ideal Publications Manager will have a thorough understanding of education / professional / academic publishing, and the changing publishing environment, ideally from having worked in an editorial role, and will have a proven track record of having written, edited and published for different audiences. Experience of having managed a publications process including tendering, commissioning and overseeing production would be highly valuable. Excellent time management and organisational skills, as well as strong communication and stakeholder management skills are all a must.
The Role:
As Publications Manager your main remit will be to oversee four peer-reviewed journals, a member's magazine, blog, book series and research reports; you will also look to support editors and editorial boards and develop the publications portfolio and processes; and importantly, you will manage day-to-day relationships with publishing partners. The Publications Manager has a varied role which involves acting as a commissioning, desk and production editor across a variety of projects, overseeing relationships with external freelancers and partner publishers, providing practical support to journal editors, and to other committees and groups, developing new publishing solutions, both print and online, for reaching different audiences including academics, teachers and policy makers, and providing specialist publishing advice and services to the organisation as a whole.
