Band 6 £39,912 - £48,635 per annum
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,349 per annum
37 hours per week
Permanent post - part time hours would be considered
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Sick Childrens Nurse to join the nursing team in Medical Ward 1 at Western Isles Hospital.
Medical Ward 1 has 8 Adult inpatient General Medical beds, 4 High Dependency beds and 3 Paediatric beds.
Applicants will have RN 8 Childrens level registration or be dual registered with the NMC and preferably a hold current Paediatric Advanced Life Support certificate.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic charge nurse who will have:
* The ability to demonstrate clinical excellence in nursing practice.
* The ability to facilitate and manage change within the clinical environment.
* Commitment to the delivery of evidence-based care.
* Be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with a flexible team orientated approach.
* Provide nursing leadership and expertise and contribute to the education, training and support of fellow health professionals.
* Provide clinical and operational support to the SCN and Charge Nurses.
The applicant should be a skilled practitioner with at least 2 years post registration experience in an acute setting caring for children and be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with a flexible team orientated approach. The practitioner should work well as an individual but also within the wider clinical teams.
