Our aim is to relieve poverty and need through the provision of food parcels, reheatable meals and other household necessities. To achieve this we facilitate the sourcing, packing and delivery of regular and emergency support, helping more than 1000 people every week.
Our fantastic community is a credit to the work of a passionate and engaged volunteer base, and is a continued reflection upon our founding principles of mutual aid, as an “organisation based on collective coordination to meet each other’s needs, from an awareness that the systems we have in place are not going to meet them.” We are a young, driven organisation working in a solidarity-driven model and this role offers the opportunity to be at the centre of OMA’s growth and development.

The Directors of Operations share responsibility for the oversight of daily operations including parcel and meal deliveries, surplus collections, and volunteer management.
As the Director of Operations for fundraising and communications you will take a lead in ensuring the financial sustainability of the organisation, with a focus on securing long term and emergency funding. The role will include development of OMA’s fundraising strategy, and implementation of its core objectives through leadership and coordination of working groups of volunteers and staff members. The role holds responsibility for the continued expansion and management of funding streams, stakeholder partnerships and outreach projects.
Operational management at OMA includes managing our phone line to process emergency parcel requests, as well as regular time each week managing volunteer packing at our hall on Cowley Road. Operational requirements can be flexible to suit the right candidate, balancing time working remotely and adapting to their strengths.
