Senior Engineering Geologist
Location: Leeds (Office-based) + Sites across North East England
Contract: 6 months initially, 2-3 days per week
Hours: 7.5 per day
Vehicle: Own vehicle use is required
We are looking for a Senior Engineering Geologist to join our client's team in Leeds. This role offers the chance to work on diverse Geotechnical and Geo-environmental projects across the north of England and beyond. Flexibility to work on different sites is essential. This role falls outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities
1. Produce Desk Studies, Site Investigation Reports, and Coal Mining Risk Reports
2. Prepare Tenders and Specifications for grouting, mine workings, and earthworks
3. Respond to regulator conditions and queries
4. Attend client meetings and supervise site work as needed
5. Assist in team management and mentoring junior staff
Key Experience Required
1. Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology
2. Chartered Geologist (CGeol) status or working towards it
3. 5-10+ years' experience in:
1. Ground investigation techniques
2. Fieldwork supervision
3. Soil & rock sampling/logging
4. Geotechnical and contamination reporting
5. Earthworks and remediation strategies
Bonus Skills (Desirable but not Essential)
1. Slope Stability Assessment
2. CLEA Risk Assessment
3. Groundwater DQRA
