We are currently working with a top tier contractor who are seeking a Site Engineer to work on large-scale infrastructure projects in Suffolk, initially focusing on road schemes. The primary purpose of this role is to support the construction process and contribute to the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with site management to complete accurate quality take-offs.
* Identify potential commercial opportunities and risks within the project.
* Develop expertise in conducting hazard and risk assessments, ensuring relevant personnel are informed of control measures and work methods.
* Perform inspections and testing to confirm compliance with design and specification requirements.
* Provide training, supervision, and mentorship to junior engineers.
* Oversee setting-out activities on-site to ensure precise execution.
* Manage service plans and drawings for designated sections and issue permits accordingly.
* Support the QS and Project Manager by providing necessary information for records and claims.
* Oversee as-built documentation and contribute to the completion of the site health and safety file.
* Ensure all work aligns with quality, safety, and environmental policies and company procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
* Strong setting-out experience within infrastructure projects, particularly highways, roads, and earthworks.
* Proficiency in using Leica/Geomax equipment and transferring data from AutoCAD to surveying equipment.
* Good understanding of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and the quality assurance process.
* Strong leadership skills and knowledge of construction practices.
* A full UK driving licence is essential, as the role requires travel within the Eastern region.
* A First Aid at Work qualification is desirable.
