This full-time role is required to ensure the company meets an increasing production forecast with existing and new products for the global energy market.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Test Bay Technician will be responsible for conducting electrical, mechanical, and functional testing of products in the test bay environment. The role involves testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring that products meet quality standards before they are shipped to customers or released for further processing. The ideal candidate should have experience with test equipment, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Assembling flow meters and instrumentation, performing hydrostatic pressure tests, hyperbaric pressure tests and pneumatic leak tests.
* Preparing flow meters for the installation of instrument pipework and wiring.
* NDT including DPI, MPI, PMI, Ferrite and Hardness Testing.
* Preparing components for x-ray and processing reports on return.
* Preparing components for painting.
* Preparing components for factory acceptance tests.
* Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
* Documents actions by completing material and weld location plans, NDT reports.
EXPERIENCE, PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* 3-5 years' experience in a technical or test environment.
* Minimum GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science (or equivalent).
* BTEC or HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience (preferred).
* Relevant Apprenticeship in Engineering or Instrumentation would be an advantage.
* Strong understanding of instrumentation, pressure testing, and NDT techniques.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and test data/reporting software.
* Ability to follow health and safety regulations and work safely with pressurised systems.
