The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is searching for a Town & Country Planner to support and enhance our project delivery team. What will you be doing as our new Town & Country Planner ? You will be responsible for providing practical planning advice and guidance to enable successful and efficient delivery of schemes across either the North or South Interconnector projects. You will advise on the planning requirements for projects and where possible maximise the use of Anglian Water’s permitted development rights as a statutory undertaker Key responsibilities: Prepare and submit Town & Country Planning applications, Town & Country Planning applications with EIA, and EIA Screening Opinion Requests Work collaboratively with engineers, designers and construction teams to help deliver schemes on time, on budget and with minimal environmental impact Conduct pre-application consultation with the Local Planning Authorities and where necessary other relevant stakeholders Help develop strong relationships with local planning authorities and where necessary other external stakeholders Work closely with local planning authorities to facilitate agreement of planning conditions Use digital technology to drive innovation and efficiency within the Enabling Team, the wider business and local planning authorities Keep up to date with T&C Planning and Environmental legislation Work collaboratively with wider Enabling Team to manage workload to meet planning and programme targets A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours: This job might be for you if you are: Educated to degree level in relevant subject A Member of RTPI or eligible to join Able to demonstrate an understanding of the T&C Planning system (either through related coursework, previous employment, or personal endeavours) Able to work flexibly across several projects and to meet required deadlines Effective in written and verbal communication Experienced in recording/writing detailed technical data and reports Experienced in using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) packages such as ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo for geoprocessing and visualisation of data Not only do we look for the best talent to join us on our journey, we also look for individuals to demonstrate key behaviours that align with our values and beliefs.
