We are looking to recruit a Senior Network Designer that will take ownership of all aspects of the fibre network design, working to strict deadlines, while being flexible to meet change requirements when needed. They partner with Internet Service Providers to optimise the UK's fibre network. Together they deliver the best possible customer experience whilst driving down costs and improving the speed of roll-out. Description A Senior Network Designer will take ownership of all aspects of the fibre network design, working to strict deadlines, while being flexible to meet change requirements when needed. This will include liaison with surveyors, build assurance engineers, build co-ordinators, commercial team, and IT Dev for back-office report outputs. The Senior Fibre Designer will also be responsible for leading the service review with external design partners. The Senior Fibre Designer will be responsible for mentoring & coaching more junior designers and be their team leader from a workstream management perspective. Our systems are unique so whilst experience is needed, they will also need to be a quick learner with an enthusiasm for telecoms. Profile The capture of initial areas of interest and costing estimates for the Executive team to review. In preparing the complete technical design, costings, and build pack data to enable a route walk to establish the most effective route and cabinet locations. Highlighting initial areas of possible wayleaves and access requirements. Designing to the agreed Fibre architectures. (FTTP) Responsible for the governance of works in compliance with guidelines and code of practice. Helping to develop, implement, and champion network topologies. Appling data quality within our asset and customer management systems Driving consistency, quality, suitability, and cost-effectiveness Highlight and escalate major design variances to the design while having a flexible approach in dealing with amendments to designs. Delivering short, medium, and long-term forecasts for all network components Working with Vendor relationships regarding securing a repeatable supply chain Ensuring and overseeing the design acceptance. Ensuring as-builts are received, checked, and stored. Knowledge of BT PIA infrastructure & the rules regarding its use Experience with calculating link loss budget & reading trace results. Lead the service reviews for external design partners Job Offer Salary £48,000 - £54,000 depending on experience 37.5 hours a week Fixed term contract for 6 months
