About The Role
At EKFB, we’re shaping Infrastructure for a better tomorrow. All four of our partners (Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM) bring specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high-speed rail projects.
We’re currently recruiting for a Design Manager (Highways) to join our Twyford to Greatworth (T2G) team based in Brackley.
In this role, you will be supporting the Designer in identifying all the highway consents needed as part of the design of the works in our scope. You will ensure the highways consents comply with any relevant U&As, gather and report on information necessary to prove compliance, and manage and monitor the status of all highways consents through their lifecycle, ensuring that correct roles and responsibilities have been allocated to relevant owners and that works comply with the consent requirements.
You will be reviewing the content of design submissions and providing feedback based on technical requirements and CGB expectations. This includes liaising with Highway Authorities, Third Parties, and HS2 through the consents process, managing, chairing, and keeping records of pre-application discussions. Additionally, you will notify HS2 of any potential disputes with CGB or situations where the CGB is acting unreasonably, which could delay the consenting process.
In addition, you will be making all Highways Consents submissions to the CGBs, including the discharge of conditions and recording all responses and approvals. You will notify HS2 of any consent applications that have been refused or withheld, and update all Highways Consents information within smartCONNECT (formerly IOP) including documentation reference, commentary on progress, actual dates, and planned forecast dates.
