SH1 Papakura to Drury Stage 1B (Stage 1B) is part of a staged upgrade to improve SH1 and adjacent multi modal travel reliability, access, and safety. Stage 1B ties into Stage1A, NIMT Bridges, and completes a combined 6km of three laned SH1 in both directions, six new motorway bridges and multiple interfacing local roads, over motorway bridges, Shared User Paths (SUPs) and upgraded utilities.

Be part of our team working in South Auckland on one of our key projects. Reporting to the Construction Manager, this role focuses on the effective delivery of a large section of the project. This position requires the leadership, energy, construction knowledge and capability to be hands on in the project, providing coaching and mentoring to team members on various technical elements, ensuring that work is completed to deadline and a high quality. You will have proven experience in major civil construction projects, and are familiar with NZS3910 and the Construction Contracts Act. You will demonstrate a track record of project delivery within the timeframe, budget and while maintaining high standards across Safety, Quality, Environmental & Social aspects of the project. You will have a strong history of successfully managing staff and subcontractors combined with a natural flair creating excellent working relationships with clients.

We're looking for someone with:
* A team player who actively contributes to a high performing collaborative team culture.
* The ability to plan the execution of the works and develop construction methodology for all elements of a Major Infrastructure Project.
* Proven experience managing budgets and programmes, providing monthly forecast cost to complete.
* Leadership of Internal & Subcontractor workforce, evidence of building teams both in the office and onsite.
* Excellent leadership qualities, track record of mentoring / training staff.
* Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to coordinate with the project teams to ensure optimisation of resources and efficiency of delivery.
* Proven ability in subcontractor management.
* Optimising the use of material, plant and labour.
* Reporting project progress and performance.
* Maintaining a safe and tidy site, assisting in the development of management systems and ensuring compliance within your team.
* Track record of leadership and delivery of high safety, environmental, and quality standards personally and within project teams.
You will need a minimum of 8-10 years' experience as a discipline, zone or project manager and have a BE, NZCE or a Diploma in Civil Engineering. Key to this role will be your commitment to achieve exceptional outcomes in delivery.
