Happy Jobs NI is delighted to be representing Lisburn Enterprise Organisation (LEO) in their appointment of a dynamic Business Mentor/Consultant to join their growing team as a Business Advisor. LEO is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing support, guidance, and training to entrepreneurs at every stage, from pre-startups to established businesses. As a leading enterprise agency, LEO offers an array of resources, including premises, conference facilities, administrative support, and virtual office services.
About The Role:
As a business advisor with LEO you will have the opportunity to mentor, advise and consult with Pre-Start-up, Start-Up, Scale-Up and Established Businesses across a variety of programs. These programs include but are not limited to:
Go Succeed: Go Succeed is a new comprehensive business support service. Within this role you will be providing bespoke and relevant business support to individuals, entrepreneurs, and business owners, adaptive to meet the needs of entrepreneurs at different stages in their business journey.
Explore Enterprise Support Service: A new initiative delivered through Enterprise Northern Ireland and in partnership with The Princes Trust NI which provides self-employment or employment support to economically inactive individuals across Northern Ireland. As part of this service you will provide training and mentorship to individuals starting a business.
My Adviser: My Adviser targets early-stage entrepreneurs trading less than 18 months and offers practical assistance in establishing their business. On this programme you will support start-ups by holding regular support sessions, coordinating peer group mentoring and host networking events.
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional business advice and mentoring to individuals interested in launching or expanding their ventures.
- Advise and assist new and existing businesses with composing and improving their business plans, including reviewing financial projections
- Manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of client businesses.
- Ensure programmes are delivered to a high standard, meet output targets and are within budget.
- Take part and assist in the designing and delivery of training workshops, seminars, and events
- Assist the wider LEO team to keep social media channels up-to date.
- Fulfil any other duties reasonably required by the Chief Executive to contribute to LEO's effective functioning.
- Train and mentor junior member of the team

Within this exciting role no two days will be the same so the successful candidate will be a people person who enjoys working with a variety of individuals and businesses to help them reach and achieve their goals. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative team environment, possesses excellent communication skills and a has a real "can-do" attitude. As a Business Advisor you will be advising individuals on their business plans so a good eye for detail, excellent analytical and data interpretation skills are essential.
You could be perfect for this role if you are currently working:
1. Within a Marketing Agency, regularly advising businesses on their marketing strategy.
2. As an accountant that enjoys the consultancy aspects of your role and would like to more regularly mentor and advise clients on their business plans and growth strategies.
3. In a Business Consultancy firm and would like to have greater exposure to a variety of clients and business growth stages.
4. A Charity or Social Enterprise that supports individuals looking to start a business or social enterprise.
5. Self-Employed as a business, management, marketing or finance consultant and would like to move into a full-time employer role.
Essential Criteria:
- A relevant degree-level qualification, preferably in Marketing, Business, or Finance, or equivalent degree with experience in business/industry.
- Within the last three years a minimum of two years’ experience in coaching, mentoring, training and advising clients on different aspects of their business or at different stages of their entrepreneurial journey
- Proficiency in using a CRM system
- Knowledge of varying forms of social media
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in designing and delivering training and development programmes.
- Experience in managing, posting and scheduling social media content.
The Package:
£35,000 - £40,000 p/a dependent on candidates experience
This is a permanent full-time office-based role. Working hours are 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday - Hours.
