A leading FM organisation are looking for an Electrical Shift Leader to join a thriving team based on one of their high profile contracts in the Canary Wharf area. Role Summary & Responsibilities
* Oversee holiday and sickness cover requirements for the shift team, addressing HR-related tasks, including the completion of team appraisals.
* Collaborate with management to develop and implement robust training plans for all shift personnel.
* Maintain a professional image and uphold the standards of the technical team at all times.
* Supervise the facilities management (FM) shift team and act as the senior technical representative during out-of-hours operations.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for technical service delivery within the banking environment.
* Plan and prioritize workloads on shift, ensuring the timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and reactive work orders within established service level agreements (SLAs). Escalate concerns to the Technical Services Manager (TSM).
* Ensure effective communication during shift handovers through verbal updates, logbooks, email summaries, and status boards.
* Coordinate with other FM service providers to deliver an integrated, seamless service. Provide timely feedback to internal stakeholders or clients through face-to-face communication, emails, or feedback cards.
* Lead shift training initiatives using scenario-based exercises, lessons learned, and resources such as operational manuals and site drawings.
* Monitor and operate critical systems and plant equipment within authorization limits to ensure uninterrupted service.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols for all work carried out by staff and subcontractors. Conduct toolbox talks, workplace assessments, and audits to uphold safety standards.
* Adhere to established business processes, ensuring proper financial approval for expenditures related to parts, tools, training, and other requirements.
* Prepare weekly performance reports detailing workload status using maintenance management systems.
* Submit monthly reports to the TSM, highlighting key areas such as challenges, health and safety issues, and SLA achievements.
