Meltham Group Practice is looking for an enthusiastic andmotivated GP, to join our friendly team, for six sessions. Set in the fabulous semi-rurallocation in the Holme Valley, we are a well regarded, highQOF achieving practice with high patient satisfaction ratings.
One of our partners is the Clinical Director of the PCN and we host a widearray of multidisciplinary staff. We are a training practice and supportive ofany specialist interests you may wish to develop.

JOB SUMMARY
A Salaried GP will:
1. Provide medical services for the practice population to a high standard, including day-to-day activities such as surgery consultations, telephone advice, telephone consultations and home visits and appropriate administration to ensure accurate records, patient continuity and quality of care.
2. Comply with the requirements of the practices General Medical Services/Personal Medical Services (GMS/PMS/APMS) contract, Enhanced Services contracts, educational/training delivery contracts and private contracts.
3. Adhere to the principles of good medical practice.
PRINCIPALRESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical
A Salaried GP will:
4. Provide high quality medical services to patients registered with the practice.
5. Provide a full range of services in line with the requirements of the GMS/PMS/APMS) Contract and Enhanced Services Contracts.
6. Refer patients as appropriate and in accordance with local procedures.
7. Undertake duties such as prescription signing, prescribing reviews, telephone advice, duty doctor, in accordance with the rota
8. Undertake clinics, post-natal checks, child developmental checks as agreed or required.
9. Manage long-term conditions in accordance with practice and national clinical guidelines.
10. Prescribe generically and in accordance with the practice formulary.
11. Provide appropriate health promotion advice to all patients
12. Ensure good clinical governance is part of patient care and other practice activities.
13. Adhere to practice guidelines, policies and procedures
14. Practice evidence-based medicine.
15. Take ongoing responsibility for patients with difficult and complex problems including consistent follow-through.
16. Participate in audit and quality improvement processes.
Non clinical
A Salaried GP will:
17. Maintain clinical records (manual/electronic) in line with good practice and in accordance with practice procedures including appropriate coding as agreed in the practice.
18. Maintain administrative records in relation to GMS/PMS/APMS) contract, enhanced services contracts and QOF including coding.
19. Work in line with agreed practice procedures and protocols
20. Be available for informal contact with team members, especially other GPs, at coffee times.
21. Attend on a regular basis in house clinical, administrative and educational meetings.
22. Contribute to the practices clinical governance and quality activities including clinical audit.
TRAINING ANDEDUCATION
A salaried GP will:
23. Prepare for and complete the annual external appraisal system.
24. Prepare for and complete the revalidation process.
25. Undertake training that meets personal, statutory and practice learning needs including recording of learning, reflection, complaints etc.
26. Participate in and contribute to learning activities such as significant event reviews, clinical audit, protected learning time.
27. Contribute to delivering teaching for doctors in training in the practice and other health professionals in training.

30. Full registration with GMC and a recognised medical defence organisation.
