Transfusion Laboratory Services Administrator
The Transfusion Laboratory Services department at the Welsh Blood Service is looking for a new Transfusion Laboratory Services Administrator; this is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking individual to join our dynamic team responsible for the provision of blood components across Wales.
It is essential that the successful candidate is methodical in the presentation of their work and possesses excellent time management skills. They will need to have flair for maintaining a robust administrative system, demonstrate IT skills (specifically using Microsoft Office packages), be disciplined in their approach to their work, but also be flexible and willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Key aspects of this role include:
1. Scheduling meetings and preparing relevant documentation (minutes, action logs, reports etc.)
2. Supporting the departmental training & education function
3. Responding to email and telephone enquiries
4. Processing payroll information
5. Placing and receipting orders (on Oracle system)
6. Responding to staff enquiries
7. Assisting with the day-to-day running of the office
Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
* GCSE English, maths A - C grade or equivalent
* NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent qualification/experience
Skills and Attributes
* Formal Minute taking
* Extensive use of Windows based applications at ECDL level or equivalent
* Organising/ coordinating multiple internal and external meetings using own initiative to prioritise activities and meet deadlines
Experience
* Experience of communicating with different levels of staff
* Experience of operating Microsoft Office Suite
