Main Purpose of the role The owner of the role within the PDI Team is accountable for managing customer experience in terms of pre-sales trials, and post-sale factory inspection tests for both discrete machines and project solutions: Contractual On Time Delivery Promise Dates Customer Technical & Performance Requirements Customer Satisfaction Quality Assurance in Accordance with IEL Integrated Management System. Primary Responsibilities Conduct trials, PDIs, and FATs in adherence to the company’s project management process maps, ensuring thorough preparation and seamless execution. Plan equipment ingress, build, setup, and resource allocation for each trial, PDI, or FAT, ensuring readiness for customer-facing events. Develop trial, PDI, and FAT agendas, test methodologies, and relevant documentation in advance to provide a clear roadmap for both internal teams and customers. Monitor quality standards during equipment setup, testing, and trials to ensure they meet both company and customer expectations. Document any quality concerns and collaborate with quality control, rectification, or aftersales teams to address them. Facilitate customer interactions on the day of each trial, PDI, or FAT, managing their experience and addressing inquiries to ensure satisfaction. Complete and issue comprehensive trial or PDI/FAT report packages for customer review, providing detailed insights and ensuring transparency in results. Document any outstanding issues and coordinate their completion with relevant engineering or manufacturing teams, liaising with the customer as required. Ensure all documentation, including testing results, inspection reports, and risk logs, are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with both company policies and customer agreements. Provide technical support during trials, PDIs, and FATs, troubleshooting issues on-site and working closely with engineering teams to implement quick resolutions. Act as a central point of communication between sales, engineering, production, and customer service teams, ensuring all departments are informed of project progress and any specific customer requirements. Ensure all work and customer-facing activities are compliant with health and safety regulations. Coordinate logistics for equipment, tools, and other resources required for trials and PDIs. This includes liaising with the supply chain or procurement teams to ensure timely availability of necessary parts or equipment. Collect feedback from customers and internal teams after each trial, PDI, or FAT. Use this information to enhance future processes, address recurring issues, and improve customer satisfaction. What skills are we looking for? To be successful in this role you must have HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline, experience in a technical or project support role, ideally within manufacturing or equipment sales, the ability to deliver performance against objectives, technical writing and ability to produce clear and concise reports and documentation, commercial awareness, be customer focused with a proactive approach to problem solving and collaboration, proficient in Microsoft Office packages, excellent communication & organisational skills and must be fluent in English.
