Highways Senior Engineer (UK Wide) We are now looking for a number of experienced Senior Design Highways engineers to join our growing hub locations around the UK.
As part of this role, you will be responsible for the following:
* Deliver technical excellence, innovation and safety in design within your project deliverables.
* Look for opportunities for automation and process efficiencies in everything we do.
* Understand the importance of escalating any highways scope changes and the impact on delivery, programme and budget.
* Collaborate with your discipline lead and other project interfaces to produce a quality deliverable and be empowered to challenge today so that we can re-invent tomorrow.
* Technically mentor less experienced staff who may be supporting you to deliver a project.

Jacobs is a market leader in the transportation sector and some of our largest clients include National Highways, Transport Scotland, the Welsh Government and global contractors. Internationally, we work on some of the world's mega projects, for example, NEOM The Line and the King Khalid International Airport. Closer to home, we work for the councils and transport authorities in our largest towns and cities, providing you with the chance of being able to work on a project in your local community. In the North, we are delivering schemes for Manchester Airport Group, United Utilities, Cheshire East Council, and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. Whilst in the Midlands and South-West, we are working on frameworks for Worcestershire County Council, Birmingham City Council, Derbyshire County Council and West of England Combined Authority. We are now looking for a number of experienced engineers at Senior Engineer level to join our growing hub locations around the UK. * Design experience in the built environment and transportation.
* Attained a relevant professional qualification, for example a degree in engineering, and CEng/ IEng or equivalent qualifications or work experience.
* Technical experience of delivering local and/or major highways projects or the land side alignment elements in adjacent markets such as Water or Aviation.
* Good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to communicate different design options to internal and external stakeholders.
* Thorough understanding of commonly used design standards such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW) or international equivalents.
* Sound knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and a passion for fostering safety and wellbeing.
* Capable of managing a workload which may be subject to change at short notice and raising early warnings.
* Ability to work independently and effectively within a global multi-disciplinary team.
