We are looking people with previous lived experience to become part of our Peer Mentor team Making the decision to enter treatment can be an intimidating experience so it’s paramount that we create a welcoming and caring environment which is non-judgmental. Lived experience is a key attribute to engage our service users; your role will be to listen to our service users to understand their needs and support them to access the right intervention at the right time in a way that best meets their needs. You will advise service users about the options that are available to them both within the service and the wider community and offering them appropriate, knowledge, advice and equipment to enable them to keep themselves safe. You will be provided with all the skills, knowledge, training and support to undertake the role. Volunteers contribute to Change Grow Live in a variety of ways. From Admin Volunteers to Service User Reps, from Peer Mentors to Healthcare Support Volunteers, from Independent Visitors to Community Mentors each volunteer brings a unique set of skills and talents. We are incredibly grateful for all that volunteers do to support our service users. We are looking for Vounteers to be able to: Demonstrate visible recovery and acting a positive role model as you support people in recovery and the wider service. Support our reception, playing a vital role in helping people coming into treatment to feel welcome and safe. A ssist with the delivery of recovery group sessions H elpout with day-to-day tasks within the service. Offer a listening ear and ad hoc support to people using our services.
