Key Responsibilities
* Care and Assistance: Provide care and assistance to service users, including vulnerable or disabled individuals.
* Home Maintenance: Prepare meals, clean the home, and keep it tidy (making beds, washing dishes, ironing, etc.).
* Personal Hygiene: Attend to the personal hygiene of care recipients (showering, oral hygiene, washing).
* Mobility Support: Assist service users with mobility difficulties, helping them move and ambulate safely.
* Bed Support: Support service users in getting in and out of bed safely.
* Safe Environment: Maintain a safe environment for service users in supported living care homes and their own homes.
* Personal Care: Help with personal care and dressing.
* Toileting Support: Assist service users with their toileting and continence needs.
* Safeguarding: Prevent and report safeguarding concerns and abuse.
* Promote Independence: Encourage service users' independence in all aspects of their care.
* Medication Prompting: Prompt service users to take prescribed medications.
* Housework: Perform housework tasks such as dusting, tidying, vacuuming, ironing, and laundry, as per care plan.
* Meal Preparation: Prepare balanced meals in the required quantities and assist service users with eating and drinking when necessary.
* Well-being Assessment: Assess service users' well-being and report any concerns to the manager.
* Liaison: Liaise between service users and other agencies/local authorities.
* Medical Appointments: Support service users to attend medical appointments.
* Community Support: Assist with shopping and escort service users to do shopping or visits in the community.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare or caregiving role is preferred.
* Compassion: Strong sense of compassion and empathy for vulnerable individuals.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
* Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
* Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing tasks and priorities.
* Integrity: Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in caregiving.
