Construction/Site Supervisor
Reporting to: Construction Manager / Project Manager
Our client specialises in commercial fit outs in the London area. They’re a team of motivated professionals who’ve come together from a number of different Tier 1 organisations and top performing teams. Their speciality is delivering projects up to the value of five millions, from small office modifications, light refurbishments, CAT A & CAT B fit outs to full design and build.
Job purpose
To supervise workers and subcontractors on site
To help plan and monitor the works on site
Main Duties
Ensure site teams work together to deliver quality work to meet deadlines.
• Monitor construction processes
• To help plan and manage the site logistics
• Provide training and team building sessions (Induction & Daily Activity Briefings).
• Ensure adherence to Health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
• Perform equipment, material, and routine site inspections.
• Schedule and attend regular meetings with contractors, site inspectors, managers, and staff.
• Write up inspection reports, assist with project plans, and present them to relevant stakeholders.
• Work with the client representatives and other professionals within the team.
• Stay up to date with safety legislation and developments in construction.
• Assist with the training of new staff.
• To manage orders and deliveries of construction materials
• Process paperwork.
• To manage RAMs, inductions & access to site for employees, contractors & visitors
Essential Qualifications
• CSCS Test
• Gold CSCS Card / JIB / Skills
• NVQ 3
• SMSTS (5 day)
Experience
3+ years of proven hands on experience within the construction sector
• Experience in a leadership role
• Demonstrate ability to understand and manage a variety of construction related technical disciplines.
Knowledge
• An understanding of risk assessment of activities and the importance of behaviours in safety-critical environments
• An understanding of sustainability issues in projects across economic, social and environmental aspects
• An understanding of construction methods and materials
• An understanding the project management lifecycle
• An understanding of the importance of project planning and resourcing and be able to analyse different techniques
• Able to review the quality required on a finished construction project
• An understanding of the importance of cost control on a construction project
Skills

• Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects
• Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction Projects
• Be able to confidently supervise construction Workers
