AALTO’s Zephyr aircraft is a High-Altitude Platform Station (HAPS) and is currently the sectors lead product having completed the most hours in the stratosphere with numerous payloads and configurations. Having already flown beyond 60 days we have demonstrated that we are able to provide longevity in the stratosphere, enabling both civil and military operations above 60,000ft which is up and beyond conventional air traffic. Zephyr provides a more affordable service solution than satellites, with the additional benefit of increased mobility as we can relocate in lieu of needing to deploy additional satellites. As a newly established entity we plan to become a leading Global HAPS Connectivity Service provider for the Mobile and Satellite Network Operator market. We can connect the diverse needs of our customers – whether for rural, overlay capacity, disaster recovery or new affordable service provisions. As a Platform as a Service (PaaS) we can also offer both Institutions and Military operators; earth observation, tracking and communication solutions, whilst all powered by sunlight. Job Purpose We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Service Management developer to join our Service Management team. The position holder will play a critical role in developing, automating, and maintaining tools and systems that provision, monitor, manage, and optimise the service infrastructure including the NOC. The ideal candidate will have experience in network technologies, software development, and automation processes to ensure seamless network operations and proactive issue resolution. Responsibilities Network Monitoring & Automation Development: Develop and maintain automated scripts, tools, and applications for network monitoring, alerting, and issue resolution. Enhance existing monitoring systems and integrate them with other tools to provide a unified view of the network. Automate routine network management tasks and provide solutions for proactive issue detection and resolution. Network Infrastructure Support Support the team with troubleshooting and resolving network-related issues by analysing network performance, logs, and error reports. Work closely with network engineers and system administrators to identify bottlenecks, optimize performance, and enhance reliability. Assist in the development of solutions for performance improvements, scalability, and capacity planning. Integration With NOC Systems Build and maintain integrations with various network management and monitoring platforms such as Grafana, and others. Ensure seamless communication between different monitoring systems to provide real-time data and alerts. Support the creation and management of dashboards and reporting systems to deliver actionable insights on network health. Service Provisioning Design, Develop API’s and interfaces to allow AALTO systems to be made visible to customer systems, to allow customers to visualise and control their own services Data Analysis And Reporting Gather, process, and analyse network data to identify trends, potential vulnerabilities, or areas for improvement. Generate reports and provide detailed network performance insights to stakeholders. Implement data analytics tools to improve the NOC's ability to predict network issues before they impact users. Incident Management & Documentation Participate in incident response processes by assisting with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and ensuring incidents are properly documented. Maintain detailed logs of network events, incidents, and troubleshooting steps. Ensure compliance with best practices for incident resolution and reporting. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and security teams, to optimize network infrastructure. Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in network management and automation. Contribute to the continuous improvement of NOC processes and methodologies. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience in provisioning systems, network operations, software development, or systems administration. Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools and platforms (e.g., Grafana, Nagios, Zabbix, etc.). Experience in automation technologies (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar scripting languages). Understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SNMP, etc.). Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualized environments is a plus. Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.). Familiarity with network protocols and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, Ping, Traceroute, etc.). Experience with database management and query languages (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).
