We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Chef to join a hardworking and close-knit team with plenty of opportunities for exposure, progression, and development. This beautiful 4-star hotel in central Salisbury attracts a wide range of guests, and you will have the opportunity to cater for not only the regular hotel guests but also a variety of functions including corporate events, weddings, afternoon teas, and much more!
You will be working within a unique and charming local hotel under the guidance and support of an experienced team of chefs with a modern approach to food, focusing on delivering high-quality food and service while working closely with your colleagues. Ideally, you will have experience within either a 4-star hotel or restaurant environment. With a modern approach to food, you will be confident with the following responsibilities:
The person… The role would suit an enthusiastic, hardworking, and passionate individual with a genuine interest in using fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients and a natural flair for serving beautifully presented food – simply done well. A confident chef with excellent communication skills.
Role responsibilities:
1. Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes
2. Preparation of vegetables, meats, and fish
3. Assisting other chefs in the kitchen as and when required
4. Supporting the head and sous chef in creating menus, recipes, and developing dishes
5. Helping with checking and storage of deliveries and restocking
6. Assisting with managing and training junior staff
7. Ensuring stock is rotated as per kitchen guidelines
8. Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards
The ideal candidate will possess:
1. Level 1 and 2 food safety
2. A minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role
3. Experience of using various kitchen equipment
4. Competent level of written and spoken English
5. Awareness of manual handling techniques
6. Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
Salary and benefits: From £26,000-£28,000 depending on experience
