The Opportunity: The University of Edinburgh’s School of Economics is seeking to appoint outstanding candidates to faculty positions at the rank of Lecturer. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to producing internationally excellent research and delivering high quality teaching that contributes to the development of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and the learning experience of our students. Applicants should have, or be close to completing, a PhD in economics or related field, and have demonstrable potential to publish their research in leading refereed journals, to contribute to knowledge exchange activities and to secure research income. They will also undertake further management, teaching and administrative duties commensurate with the role. Must be able to demonstrate an existing or developing record of research with potential for publication in leading peer-reviewed journals in economics. Will have demonstrated the ability to make an outstanding contribution to the research activities and intellectual life of the School of Economics. Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
