A brand new opportunity has become available in the Solihull area for a Sales Ledger Clerk within a manufacturing business. This position will be supporting the Finance Manager and the Finance Director of this growing business!
This role will involve a range of sales ledger tasks, including but not limited to:
1. Raising sales invoices
2. Sending out invoice statements
3. Chasing payments
4. Bank reconciliations
5. Cash allocation
6. Cashbook reconciliations
7. A range of other tasks
This role is a temporary to permanent position, coming about due to the previous person in this role retiring at the end of this year. The business wants the first 3 months of this role to be a temporary position to act as a probation period.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Raise sales invoices for the business.
2. Liaising with the internal team to ensure sales invoices are accurate and contain all supporting documentation.
3. Reconciling of the bank statement on a daily basis.
4. Allocating incoming payments to the bank.
5. Investigating unknown payments into the bank.
6. Reconciling incoming payments against remittances to ensure things are allocated correctly.
7. Assisting with debt chasing, so taking control of the occasional credit control tasks.
8. Resolving queries related to invoices to ensure prompt payment.
9. Generating aged debtor reports for management, ideally keeping these to 30-60 days as a max.
10. Other ad-hoc finance tasks.
Candidate Attributes and Skills:
1. Ideally have previously worked within a sales ledger role, having experience with:
1. Raising invoices
2. Bank reconciliations
3. Cash allocation
4. Query resolution
2. Be a big team player, this team is all about knuckling in together to get a job done and they will want someone who is keen to be a part of that team.
3. Need to be immediately available or on a short notice period as this role is looking to begin as soon as possible, to help everyone start stepping up into their new role to train.
