Graphic Designer/Artworker Otter House are recruiting a Graphic Designer/Artworker to join their studio team. The role of the Graphic Designer/Artworker is to artwork Charity & Retail catalogues and to support the different design departments with the studio. You will also be responsible for contributing towards the art-working of press ready designs across Otter Houses product range, including greetings cards, ceramics, jigsaws & stationery. Duties and responsibilities Reporting to the Studio Manager and Art Director as required Charity catalogues - working closely with the Charity department to design/artwork a variety of Charity catalogues, following brand guidelines, liaising with the Production department and other relevant departments. All artwork create to go through internal and external proofing checks and to be of a press ready standard. Retail catalogues - working closely with the Studio Manager/ Art Director and relevant internal departments to design/artwork our retail catalogues, all artwork created to go through internal proofing and be of a press ready standard. Additional to this you will create and design Charity flyers, POS, web banners & product highlighters etc. Under the guidance/briefs from Seniors/Managers you will create presentations for both internal and external client meetings, in a neat and professional manner. With guidance from the Otter House studio team, you will art-work design ideas into press-ready files for a variety of different products and format. Also to create additional files such as product library images and POS visuals. Coordinating a variety of different projects at the same time, discussing each one with the Studio Manager and ensuring each is prioritised effectively and completed within the given deadline. Maintenance and housekeeping of the related studio systems and libraries - Product Library, Job Folders, Product Archive, Portfolio, OTT Library, Ideas folder and the Design Studio Admin folder. Use of Portfolio software, a visual database of imagery. Supporting the design team with a variety of tasks from mocking up, design and image sourcing. Utilising specialist knowledge to ensure all needs and requirements are met from initial ideas through to final artwork/production. Collating digital files, paperwork and admin once a job is finalised and been sent to press. This includes the creation of colour proofs and printing instructions, filing and archiving of digital files, paperwork and the signing off pre-production samples, alongside the Art Director. Qualifications Educated to a degree level (or equivalent) within a design-based subject or relevant experience. GCSE Maths and English C or above. Personal specification Criteria Essential Desirable Experience Experience of working within a creative environment and a design-based role for 1-2 years 3 Years' experience working within a design/art working-based role. Professional skills and abilities Has extensive experience in using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Programming, email and the Microsoft Office suite. The ability to juggle lots of different projects at the same time whilst remaining calm and collected. Interpersonal skills Must be eager to learn new skills and be open for working on a variety of different jobs. Utilising specialist knowledge to ensure project needs are met from initial ideas through to final artwork/production. Be confident in approaching company managers and directors. Personal attributes Must be able to work well as part of the studio team and remain calm in stressful situations. Must have a positive attitude and be able to work as part of a team as well as individually. Must be a proactive individual that is able to use their initiative.
